The broken egg shell is viewed as a symbol of birth/moving on and of repair/repurpose. It parallels what the artist feels: the need to reinvent oneself, especially after the damage of the pandemic and the growing uproar of intolerance. As a society, we are broken. But we must pick ourselves up to re-forge our future without forgetting our origins; who we are. Such as the common egg that has been recycled into jewelry, it still is stays true to its identity.
